Listen to FM radio on your iPod and control everything with this convenient wired remote. Just plug in your iPod Radio Remote and select Radio from the main iPod menu. Use your click Wheel and tune to your favorite stations just like a classic analog radio. Easily mark a favorite station for quick access later and switch between favorite stations using either the iPod or the remote. The iPod Radio Remote supports FM stations from 87.5 to 107.9 MHz in both the US and European standards and 76 to 90 MHz in the Japanese standard. You can switch between the different standards when traveling. With the wired remote, you can control slideshow, video and music playback. Adjust volume, skip forward & back within a playlist plus switch between radio stations and turn the radio on or off, even if your iPod is in your pocket or backpack. Clip the remote to your lapel, shirt or collar for easy access, and activate the hold switch to eliminate unwanted button presses. At just over half an ounce in weight, 15.7 grams, the compact remote features a simple, familiar interface and plugs into the Dock connection on your iPod or iPod nano. The included pair of Apple Earphones has a cable that's a few inches shorter than a standard earphone cable, making it the perfect fit. You can plug it into the 3.5mm stereo minijack port on the remote or use another favorite set of earphones. Because the iPod Radio Remote is powered by the iPod itself, no extra batteries is required.

It just doesnt work. And no one knows why
Bottom Line: The tuner randomly quits on me. The radio station cuts off, and the "radio" option disappears from my ipod menu altogether. I have to unplug it, plug it back in, and hope that it works. Sometimes i can get 2 hours of radio time. Sometimes i get 2 seconds. Literally. It will work for mere seconds before needing to be unplugged/replugged again.
I understand the whole point of owning an iPod is to avoid commercial radio altogether. I bought this thing for one station alone (Seattle's KEXP), and i cant even enjoy that. I dont want a separate cheapie FM tuner, because i want to only carry one device around, kthx. This WOULD be an awesome little gadget, but it just doesnt want to be one.
Apple support told me this isnt a common occurance. They had no history on it. They just told me to exchange it. I did. I even reset my iPod back and reinstalled the newest software version (160GB Classic/ver 1.1.2PC). It worked for a morning, then began cutting off again. There is NO documentation on something like this happening to anyone else. So I guess that makes me lucky. If anyone has dealt with this issue, i would love to hear your thoughts.
