Leaked like a sieve!
I decided to start swimming for exercise. I wanted to have music with me so I purchased one of these Otterbox Waterproof cases for my iPod Nano 2G. When I got the item, I tested it as was recommended to me. It worked just fine without the iPod in it and only a folded Kleenex. So I took it swimming with my iPod attached and closed up in it. I hadn't swam for 5 minutes when I noticed water inside the case. As much water as was inside the case, I may as well have just been using my iPod without a case. And just for the record, I wasn't swimming deep, but just on the surface, so it wasn't a pressure issue. I took my iPod home and was able to dry it out. It worked again after a few days of drying. Thank goodness!

There were two problems with the Otterbox. One was that it seemed like I had to force my iPod into it. And this one was made for my type of iPod! But it sure didn't seem like it. Of course, the second was that it leaked very badly. I would have preferred to not give any stars at all, but they require at least one star.

I couldn't recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want a ruined iPod. I was so lucky that my iPod has survived. Well, it's survived so far. I'm not sure if it will keep working after the water got into it's works. It may eventually die a slow death.

Great Case
I'm having a hard time understanding why anyone would want to put an expensive ipod into this case without first testing it out. I basically took the empty case and submerged it. I TESTED IT! That's right, you don't have to have complete faith in any claim from a manufacturer. My test showed that it didn't leak at all and I then put my ipod in the case and it worked great. I use it about five times a week in the pool.

The only thing that I don't like is that you have to lock the ipod before you close the case. Basically the water pressure pushes on the controls of the ipod and it changes the volume if you don't lock the ipod first. So I usually make playlists before taking it to the pool so that I can lock my ipod and work out for an hour or two straight without having to reopen the otterbox midworkout to change albums or podcasts.

I really love this case.

FALSE CLAIM... NOT WATERPORRF
I used this product for water fitness. As soon as I jumped into the pool water got into the otter box and ruined my ipod. The company does NOT stand behind their product,VERY POOR customer service. Had an "Oh well" attitude about my Ipod being ruined by their product. WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!! Go with H20 Audio instead!

Durable, Highly Recommended
I have had my Otter Box for about 3 years. I have used it to shield my IPOD during my workouts, which occur 5-6 times per week. I have dropped my IPOD on the ground numerous times, and there was never even a scratch on it because of my Otter Box.

I must note that I have not used the Otter Box for swimming, so I cannot comment on its functionality for swimmers. I highly recommend as an IPOD Nano protector for workouts.
