No Featured Merchants Have This Item New - Check All Merchants Customer Reviews To all the people complaining about bubblesEveryone who's complaining about bubbles, there's a trick to minimize the bubbles (I have maybe three really small ones that aren't even noticable (on the front), and no bubbles at all on the back.
When you're applying the screen don't just throw it on there..start at the bottom and SLOWLY put it on; working from bottom to top..when you're doing this rub upwards (or any direction, except for down) thereby getting rid of any bubbles immediately when applying. If you do have some bubbles left (probably around the sides)..rub those to the nearest sides and edges as hard as you can so they can escape from under the screen. And voila hopefully you won't have such a big bubble problem.
note: I didn't buy this exact screen from amazon, i bought mine on ebay and it was for the entire ipod not just the screen.
Not bad for the moneyI would like to see it wrap around till both ends touch but, i did like the clarity and the material used.
GarbageDon't waste your money. This cover adheres to the ipod very poorly. You'll never get the bubbles out of it. Pure rip off.
Gets the job doneI found this to work well enough for something that costs $9. I had a rubber casing on it before, but that was a pain because added to the iPod's bulk in my shirt pocket. This sheath adds no bulk but prevents those all-too-easy scratches. Applying it was straight forward and the result is okay. I've read some of the other comments here, and here are my thoughts on it:
* Bubbles: I freaked about the bubbles when I first applied it, but do like the instructions say to and you'll be okay. i.e. smooth out all the big bubbles as soon as possible, then let it sit. The smaller bubbles that are left immediately after you apply mostly go away. I now have some very tiny bubbles, mostly around the thumb pad, which show I think only because I have a black iPod. They probably wouldn't be visible on a white iPod. And to me, they're really not a big deal. What is slightly more annoying is the long bubbles that appear at the edges, but that could have probably been avoided by stretching it a little tighter when I applied it. But again, not a big deal to me. But then, I don't use my iPod for watching much video. If I did, I might notice it more often.
* Peeling - I've been using this sheath for 4 months now, and it's completely intact. Might not be at the end of the year, but what do you want for $9? Just make sure you clean the iPod properly before applying it, of course (use alcohol - no, not Jack Daniels).
* Dirt/Fluff - Haven't seen much of this in other comments, so just a heads up to be really sure you have all dust, dirt, fluff and hair off of the screen before applying. A tiny hair crept in under mine and now looks like a tiny crack on the screen. Easily avoided.
If you watch out for those things, I think this product works as good as you could expect for a $9 item.
okay jobIt's true the scratch protector does leave annoying bubbles but it protects the face...for a bit. Now (after about two months or so) the edges don't stick anymore and it's starting to flake off so now I need new ones...or a new way to protect my ipod. | Podcasts and Videos | Creating MP3 Files |
