Good product!I bought one of these cases 2 years ago (a black one), but recently (about 2 months ago) the clip on it broke. I was so impressed on the durability and protection it offers I bought a red one (figured I'd mix it up a little). I'm rough on things sometimes and between deployments and every day use the plastic screen cover scratches, but hey it's better than scratching my ipod!
4.5 starsThis is probably the best iPod case that I have owned. By far, the most intelligent design is the belt clip itself which features a rather clever plastic locking mechanism that is easy to lock/unlock yet rugged enough to stand up to day-to-day use.
The case itself is made of thick silicone, but with pores on the back of the iPod for heat dissipation. While I can't comment on whether or not the pores actually work to the degree as advertised, I do have to admit that it's a testament to the designers who clearly understand the operational characteristics of the iPod itself; having an iPod overheat is NOT a good thing for the unit and the battery.
The screen protector is probably the best fit that I have ever seen in a case which utilizes a built-in silicone lip on the case itself and uses a raised silicone nub to keep it from sliding around. It's scratch resistant, so I'm hoping that it will have a longer life then the Belkin case that I had which experienced a scratch on day one.
Only 2 minor complaints:
1. The entire case covers the iPod (except for the small pores on the back) including a flap that covers the docking port. The iSkin website advertises that it can fit in the Apple Universal dock. This is true, but I found that it works only if you remove the 5th generation template (in the universal dock) for the 80 GB iPod AND if you tuck the sleeve back into the case. IT STILL WORKS, but I was hoping that it would be a little easier than this.
2. The hold button is completely covered. It is still usable as there is a raised protrusion for using the hold button, but it's a little finicky at first. Once you get the hang of placing the right pressure through the silicone, it's fairly easy to use it from that point forward.
All in all, a good case with some minor issues. I would highly recommend it.
Great buyGreat case, fits snug. Protects everything. Maybe a bit pricey for a case, but it's worth it in the end. I know from now on when looking for cases for my Ipods to come I will check Iskin first.
Great Product! The iSkin is great. I love the color too! ... it is NOT hard to get the ipod into the case, I did it while I was walking to my car. The hold button is NOT that hard either, if you have a little nail you can do it no problem. Protects the ipod great and to clean just wipe with damp cloth.
Probably the best case out!
Wonderful product.I am very satisfied with this product. It protects my entire ipod from scratches (including the scroll wheel). I have read previous entries about how lint attracks to this skin, but I haven't seen that to be a huge issue. I definitely recommend purchasing this skin for your ipod.
